10 Allergy Friendly Homemade Bread Recipes

Ah, bread. For those of you who have been living with food allergies, you know the depth of nasty bread that's out there. Gluten free breads have become better and better over time but bread that is gluten free, egg, dairy and nut free well, that's a different story. I tried a new bread last week and I'm pretty convinced it is the descendent of some kind of styrofoam. This led me on a search for bread, safe and GOOD bread that is actually worth eating. I found quite a few and I wanted to take … [Read more...]

Guess Who is Gluten Intolerant?

Well, it happened. I've been dealing with 6 weeks of incredible sickness, mostly because of infection (and inflammation) of my colon. But, there's something else I found out in the midst of this, I am also gluten intolerant. Food allergies have been in my life for many years, I am allergic to apples. But, nothing prepared me for my son's numerous food allergies. As much as I have read and lived this for so many years, It really did not occur to me that I would develop intolerance's or food … [Read more...]

It happened. My absolute favorite cook on the planet made another book, The Food Allergy Mama's Easy, Fast Family Meals: Dairy, Egg, and Nut Free Recipes for Every Day.  Kelly Rudnicki's first book was all about sweets and treats and I will say, it's my go-to for EVERYTHING allergy friendly. This is an easy way to dress up carrots, no fuss, just easy and good. Enjoy! [amd-zlrecipe-recipe:58]     … [Read more...]

These look amazing. That's right, amazing. Trying to create a good gluten free pretzel has been very difficult for me but then I found this recipe. Check out Tasty-Yummies.com for Gluten-free Soft Pretzel Bites (Dairy-free with vegan option). YUM. The best part is that these are bites which is great for adults and kiddos too. She mentions using honey as the glaze instead of egg yolk which is brilliant in my opinion, I have never seen that substitution before and I think the possibilities are … [Read more...]

Cinnamon Crumb Bread

This is one of my son's favorite breads, I double the cinnamon/sugar topping which makes it even more amazing. I'm calling it a crumb bread because it will literally crumble on you due to the insane amount of cinnamon and sugar that falls in between the bread as it cooks. One of the best parts about this is that you can switch out conventional flour for a gluten free baking mix or rice flour combination and it works just as well. After we bake this bread, our whole family spends the day … [Read more...]
