Food Allergies 101: Foods We Eat

Many times the hardest part of food allergies is finding a suitable alternative to a food you already love. For example, if you love peanut butter then discover you have a peanut allergy, what are you going to do? The most fortunate thing about our story is that my son was born with food allergies this means he did not eat other foods so he does not make that comparison. Personally, I think that made it easier for us. In saying that, I thought I would post a few of the products I have in my … [Read more...]

Sunbutter Banana Smoothie

I have been trying to really watch my diet especially my protein and snacks.  One that I knew I had to try was a Sunbutter Banana Smoothie, they are rich in protein and delicious!  Plus, my toddler is happy to have one of these too. These fajitas are simple but also flavorful, keep in mind that I do not care for anything spicy so they lack spice. If you would like to make them more spicy add some additional cayenne pepper to your desired hotness. Yes, I just said 'hotness'. Another great thing I love after fajitas, is if you make extra the mixture can be frozen and reheated for a good … [Read more...]

Allergy Free Pumpkin Waffles

It's the time of year for PUMPKIN! My favorite time of year to be completely honest! I made Pumpkin waffles this past week. I adapted my recipe for Ban-Apple Chocolate Chip Waffles. I simply replaced the 1 Cup of Banana for 1 Cup of Pumpkin and omitted the chocolate chips. The best part of this recipe was the caramel sauce that I made. I used The Pioneer Woman's recipe; however, I made it allergy free. To make this allergy free use rice milk and Earth's Balance butter instead of 1/2 … [Read more...]
